Going above and beyond … being More Than Pink!

Susan G. Komen was honored to have partnered with local clothing company Charlie Hustle to provide awareness and support for the breast cancer community during the 2016 National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) campaign. The team at Charlie Hustle took an awareness campaign and turned it into action!

The campaign focus was on sales of limited edition Pink KC Heart t-shirts to the general community as well as to selected companies around town via pop-up events. Through social conversations, promotions and storytelling videos the message spread all throughout the community.

In late September, Charlie Hustle and Susan G. Komen partnered with UBER Kansas City to kick off the NBCAM Campaign with an #UBERHustle event. The #UBERHustle event offered UBER subscribers a chance to be the first to purchase the limited edition Pink KC Heart t-shirts and have them delivered right to their doorsteps with the touch of a button. As you can imagine, demand was off the charts and only a select few (200 to be exact) were able to get their hands on these shirts on Day 1. Following a blistering social media campaign and multiple TV appearances, interest in the shirts continued for the next 31 days including multiple days where the shirts were sold out online and at the Plaza store.

3,000 shirts and a very busy October later we are thrilled to report that the partnership was a tremendous success for all involved.
