URGENT ACTION NEEDED from ALL MISSOURIANS: The Women of Missouri Need Your Voice Today! The Missouri House Budget committee met this morning to discuss amendments to the state budget. There is one amendment proposed that would cut the breast and cervical screening program in Missouri (“Show Me Healthy Women”) by $100,000.
The program currently receives $500,000 from the state and nearly $2 million from the federal government. Cutting the state dollars will reduce the federal contribution, as it is matched. The committee will be discussing and possibly voting on this amendment TODAY after lunch.
ACTION REQUESTED: Please call the House Budget committee members, especially the amendment sponsor listed below, and ask them to vote NO on any amendment that cuts the Show Me Healthy Women program!
Representative Cloria Brown, 573.751.3719 or Cloria.Brown@house.mo.gov.
