As an employee of a Susan G. Komen Grantee I get to see first-hand how lives are changed by the generosity of the Greater Kansas City affiliate every day.
I work at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center as a mammography technologist and we have been a Susan G. Komen Grantee for many, many years now. At our Health Center, we focus on low and no income individuals, some of whom don’t speak English. Now add mammograms, breast exams and sometimes a breast cancer diagnosis to the equation and you have an increasingly challenging scenario.
As a breast cancer survivor for 10 years myself, I have a unique perspective on dealing with a diagnosis, understanding treatment options and living with cancer.
Please take a moment to watch the amazing video I was honored to appear in, along with fellow survivor Denise Harris, on behalf of Susan G. Komen (this was premiered the night of Rock the Ribbon 2015)
I love being able to say to someone who is worried about paying for their screenings or treatment, “Don’t worry – Komen’s got you covered!”
Please consider a meaningful contribution to Susan G. Komen today so I can continue to say those words, as we know there is more to be done.

I urge you to join me and unite with us in the fight against breast cancer.
Happy New Year!
Renee Jeria, Breast Cancer Survivor
Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center
P.S. New for this year: designate where your gift will be going in one of the following areas: Survivorship Care, Education through programs like our Connected for the Cure, Screening Services for underinsured or uninsured women, Access for Rural Communities or Access for Minority Communities. As always, 25% percent of mission funds raised are pooled with Komen affiliates across the country and our Headquarters to fund key research.
