The Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Impact Award is given to a corporation or organization who carries the Komen message of breast health awareness and early detection through innovative programs.
The 2015 recipients of the Komen Impact Award are Lee’s Summit North High School and Lee’s Summit West High School.
These schools hold an annual Pink Out Soccer Game – as well as other fundraising efforts – raising more than $50,000 since they began in 2010. The 2015 event was held last week and was as successful as ever!
In addition to raising funds, this event promotes breast cancer awareness and recognizes breast cancer survivors. The committee is made up of dedicated volunteers from both Lee’s Summit North and Lee’s Summit West.
The award was presented to the adult volunteers at the 2015 Pink Promise Brunch. Accepting the award on behalf of the students and faculty were: Dana Arcuri (LSW); Sheri Burris (LSN); Leslie Dobyns (LSN); Nadine Fothergill (LSN); Ginna Gutierrez (LSW); and Cathy Vollmer (LSW)
Congratulations to all of the students, teachers and families who support this event year in and year out. Watch our Facebook and Twitter pages to hear about the 2015 donation to help save lives and end breast cancer forever!
